Nondistrict-Sponsored Trips

The provisions of this policy, and in general, California law, do not apply to field trips sponsored by entities other than the district, whether such entities be public, private or commercial. District employees who solicit students to attend such nondistrict trips shall disclose to any and all persons solicited (including the parents, guardians or legal custodians of any minor student who is solicited to participate in such a trip) that the trip is not district-sponsored and that the district will not be liable in any form for any incident, injury, accident or other occurrence related to nondistrict-sponsored activities. Failure of district staff to provide such notice shall be considered grounds for discipline of the employee.
