Employment Of Relatives

It is the intent of the Board of Education to avoid any situation wherein there can arise a conflict of interest on the part of members of the administrative staff in the employment of personnel.

In order to preclude situations which could bring about a conflict of interest for members of the administrative staff, an employee shall not be appointed to a position where a member of his/her immediate family maintains supervisory or evaluation responsibilities for the position.

Member of the immediate family is defined as: Mother, mother-in-law, father, father-in-law, spouse, son, daughter, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law of the employee, or any relative living or who has lived in the immediate household of the employee.
